745 Is Nigeria’s Highest COVID-19 Record In One Day, Total Now 18,480

Thursday June 18, 2020 made history as the day Nigeria recorded the highest number of positive Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in a single day. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) at about 11:43p.m. announced 745 new cases in the country. Till date, a total of 18,480 cases have been confirmed positive, 6,307 have been discharged while 475 deaths have been recorded.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 344 patients from isolation centers across the country with five new deaths reported. Lagos State, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria topped the number of confirmed cases with 280 new cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 7896.

At 11:43p.m. when the NCDC updated its Twitter handle, it showed that the new 745 cases #COVID19Nigeria as recorded from the states on Thursday are as follows:
