Mr Mudashiru Obasa, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly earlier today appeared before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of financial misconduct where the agency is grilling him seriously. Spokesman of the anti-graft agency of the federal government, Mr Wilson Ewujaren, who confirmed the development said the speaker was at the EFCC on the invitation of the commission.
Ewujaren said, “He came in the morning. He came on the invitation of the commission and he is with us.” However, the spokesperson of the EFCC did not disclose how long he would be in EFCC or when he would be released.
Recall that the embattled Lagos Speaker was alleged to have diverted funds to the tune of N250 million among other allegations, which the antigraft agency has taken up following reports sent to the agency to look into the matter.
