Few days after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) disclosed the recoveries of looted funds of Imo State by the Rochas Okorocha administration, which the former governor now a serving Senator in the 9th Senate had issues with, the Zonal Office of the EFCC in Sokoto has again announced that it has recovered about N400 million stolen fund in its operations between January and June 16, 2020.
Abdullahi Lawal, who heads the office of the EFCC in that zone made this disclosure when he spoke to journalists in Sokoto. According to him, the government fraud fighters also secured seven convictions during the period. Lawal added that about 100 petitions were received by the agency, bordering on advanced fee fraud, money laundry, and land matters.
