Bandits, Gunrunner, Logistics Supplier Killed By Military In Zamfara – General Enenche

Major General John Enenche, the Coordinator of Defence Media Operations (CDMO) has disclosed that the Nigerian military High Command on Sunday under Operation Accord on Friday, killed a gunrunner and logistics supplier to bandits, as well as five bandits in Zamfara State in northern Nigeria. Enenche, who provided the update in Abuja however added that some of the bandits fled with heavy gunshot wounds.

He said, “Troops of Operation Katsina under Operation Accord on June 5, 2020 intercepted a Bandits’ Gun-runner and Logistics supplier. Items recovered include 496 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and one Bajaj Motorcycle in Mararraba Maigora in Faskari Local Government Area. Similarly, in a cordon and search Operation at Yauyau and Zandam villages troops neutralised three bandits and captured four. Items recovered include seven Dane guns, three mobile phones and two motorcycles. Those captured are in custody for interrogations.

Enenche said again that on June 6, 2020, troops engaged fleeing bandits along Dunya- Dangeza road and also recovered two dane guns and four motorcycles as well as destroyed the Daban Jabi camp of a notorious bandit leader known as Dan Jangeru. “Also at Warnu village 2 bandits were neutralized while others escaped with gunshot wounds, one AK  47 rifle was recovered in the process.

The Defence Operations spokesman said that the Military High Command had congratulated Operation Hadarin Daji and Air Component of  Operation Accord, for their dexterity, while requesting he general public to continue  to provide timely and credible information that would assist in eliminating bandits and other criminal elements in the country.
