COVID-19 In Nigeria: 454 New Cases Confirmed Total Now 27,564

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on its Twitter handle at 11:52p.m. on Friday July 3, 2020 announced that the country has again recorded 454 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19). With that confirmation, Nigeria’s confirmed cases of COVID-19 reached 27,564 on Friday night. Out of this number, the NCDC said 11,069 have been discharged. However, the infection has also claimed 628 lives.

It would be recalled that the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, has urged Nigerians to brace up for an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases as a result of the easing of the lockdown nationwide. He said that more cases of the virus are expected, especially as a result of the lifting of the ban on interstate travels, and therefore urged Nigerians not to assume it is safe to move about yet.
