COVID-19 In Nigeria Records Additional 403 New Cases As Total Now Reach 16,085

  • Gombe leads Lagos for the first time
  • Nigeria’s Death toll now 420
  • Imo, Amanbra and Ondo States record one case each 

On Sunday June 14, 2020 at 11:43p.m., the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) recorded another 403 cases of the dreaded Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic from across the different states. Surprisingly for the first time since the virus arrived Nigeria, Lagos State, which remains the epicentre for the virus did not record the highest number of new cases.

Gombe State took the number one spot with 73 new cases while Lagos came second with 68 new cases. NCDC made this known on their official Twitter handle on Sunday night.

The NCDC also stated in its latest update that Nigeria now has 16,085 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 5,220 discharged so far while 420 people have died from complications from the virus.
