EID-EL-KABIR: Enugu CP, Uzuegbu Congratulates Muslims, Urges Sacrifices of Love, Peace

By Tony Adibe

The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, has congratulated Muslims in the State, as they join the ummah to mark this year’s Eid-El-Kabir. Uzuegbu also urged the Muslims in Enugu State to learn to make sacrifices of love and peace as these are necessary for the progress and growth of the state.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the Spokesman of the Command, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, CP Uzuegbu described the festival, which is centred on sacrifice, as essential in these difficult times, hence, he urged the Muslim faithful to use the opportunity of the festival to “make sacrifices of love and peace for the security and prosperity of Enugu State.”

Part of the statement read: “The Commissioner assures that adequate security has been put in place for a peaceful observance and celebration of the season. This is even as he orders Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Heads of Tactical and Operational Squads to ensure visibility patrol and the prevention of acts of crime and criminality in their areas of responsibility.”

Uzuegbu however, encouraged the Muslim faithful and the rest of the citizens of Enugu State to “remain vigilant, law-abiding, and promptly report criminals and their activities to the nearest police station. Or by calling 08032003702, 08098880172, or 08086671202, or by sending emails to infoenugupolice@gmail.com.”
