Women journalists in Enugu State under the banner of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) have felicitated with the Enugu State Governor-elect, Dr. Peter Mbah on “his well-deserved victory” in the March 18 governorship election held in the state.

NAWOJ, in a letter addressed to Mbah, signed by its Enugu State Chairperson, Comrade Ngozi Ngene and Secretary, Comrade Ogochukwu Chukwudike, said the victory of the Governor-Elect at the polls was a clear testimony to the people’s confidence in his ability, preparedness, and commitment to take Enugu State to a enviable future.

NAWOJ believes that Mbah’s victory is a significant milestone in the collective efforts to lift and transform Enugu State into an “enviable economic powerhouse” in Nigeria. The women journalists advised Mbah to remain focused and committed to the service of the people of Enugu State, pledging full support and cooperation of all women journalists as Mbah is inaugurated on May 29.

Part of the letter reads: “Your Excellency, you were chosen by the people because you are truly a man of the people. We are not in doubt how much you love our dear State and how eager and well-equipped you are to take it to the next level.

“We pledge our total support and partnership with your administration to enable you carry out your onerous responsibilities to the glory of God and joy of Enugu people. May God grant you the wisdom, knowledge, and spirit of discernment to lead the state to an enviable future”.
