Imo 2023: Ihedioha Remains Our Best Option – Owerri Zone Stakeholders Declare

An independently organised group known as Ihedioha Re-election Movement has wrapped up her zonal consultative tour across the nine local government areas of IMO State. The tour which kickstarted with Ezinihite LGA, touched Ahiazu Mbaise, Aboh Mbaise, Ngor Okpala, Mbaitolu and Ikeduru LGAs. The ship of the movement also sailed to Owerri North, Owerri Municipal and anchored at Owerri West.

Leading the movement, the convener, Sir Bon Unachukwu reeled out the numerous achievements of Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha during his short stint as governor of Imo State for seven months. He noted that Imo state experienced a positive touch in sectors like Education, Health, Finance, Economy, Infrastructure, Security among others.

“When Ihedioha was governor, many people didn’t have need to relocate or even visit the urban cities because the local governments were functioning, and local economy was booming. His government brought good governance closer to the people in the rural areas, this is what government is all about,” he stated.

Other speakers during the tour which includes the Secretary of the Movement, Chief Henry Ekpe, former members of Imo State House of Assembly Hon Oliver Enwerenem and Chief Mike Iheanaetu also stated that the reason why majority of Owerri Zone people are seeking for Ihedioha to be re-elected is because he is the best bet that can rescue Imo State from the maladministration of the ruling APC.

“When it time for popping champagne or swindling activities, we know those to call; but when it is time for governance and serious business, we look for people like Ihedioha. When it is time for serious contest, people step in their best foot; in this case, Ihedioha is our best foot and we are urging him to answer this clarion call,” these were some of their statements.

The tour which was hosted at Ezinihite Mbaise by Chief Magnus Chilaka a former Director General of Divine Mandate Movement, Ahiazu Mbaise hosted by Chief Desmond Ugwuibe, former LGA Executive Chairman, Aboh Mbaise Hosted by Chief Mike Ahamba SAN, Ngor Okpala hosted by Chief Emma Nworgu, a former Commissioner in Imo State Government, Mbaitoli hosted by Hon Sylvester Amah, a former Solad of Mbaitoli LGA, Ikeduru hosted by Chief Paschal Uzor, former Zonal Chairman of PDP, Owerri North hosted by Hon Uche Ofoegbu, Owerri Municipal hosted by Hon Chukwuemeka Ebere with a wrap up at Owerri West hosted by Hon Barr Uche Onyeaguocha, Imo East PDP Senatorial Candidate; saw to the inauguration of the various LGA chapters of the movement.

The rank and file of PDP in Owerri zone who were on this train includes, Hon Oliver Enwerenem, Hon Ahiriakwe, Hon Mike Iheanetu, Engr Sly Ama, Hon Innocent Ekenma, Hon Solomon Onwuegbuchulam, Chief Zubby Nwoke, Chief JC Nwachukwu, Dr Iwuagwu, Chris Nwogu, Mrs Ihuoma Njoku, Bar Ambrose Ugbaja, Chief Calistus Mbaoma, Dcn Paul Ajunwa, Mrs Gertrude Iroeme, Chief Charles Abara, Chief Martin Opara, Sir Emeka Amajirionwu, Prof Jude Njoku, Hon Ebere Chukwuemeka(ABJ), Chief Richmond Osuji, Chief Ben Mere, Nze Anslem Ikwu, Hon AIC Akwarandu, Chief Steve Onu, Chief Kelvin Agbaegbu, Hon Ugo Williams, Mr Frank Nwaete, Hon Ebubeagu, Chief Macdavis Chidubem (Ajanso) Chief Chuks Chilaka, among others.

Other stakeholders who received the train at the various and also reiterated their absolute belief in the Ihedioha project includes Hon Solomon Anukam, Nze Charles Onwunali, Hon Fan Ndubuoke, Prof Jude Njoku, Dr Austine Uganwa, Dr Perry Ekwunazu, Barr Julius Onyenucheya, Dr. Ray Opara and many others.
