Nigeria Records 338 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Confirmed Infections Now 5959

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday May 17, 2020 through its Twitter handle as at 11:10p.m. said it has recorded another 338 new cases of the Coronavirus (COVID19). Nigeria is Africa’s most populous nation but the infection going by the numbers provided by the NCDC has been kind to Nigeria, but that is if Nigeria has been testing as much as they should.

The new cases bring the number of confirmed COVID-19 infected persons in Nigeria to 5959. The NCDC, which is leading Nigeria’s fight against the unseen enemy said a total of 1594 patients have been treated and discharged while 182 deaths have also occurred as a result of COVID-19 complications.

Lagos State, which remains the epicenter of the virus in Nigeria still leads other states with the number of newly infected persons. The breakdown includes:
