Nigeria Records 389 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Now Escalates To 8733

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported another 389 new batch of cases of the dreaded Coronavirus (COVID-19) across various states of the country. The new case, which the centre updated at 11:44p.m. on Wednesday May 27, 2020, showed that Kogi State has finally joined the league of COVID-19 states with two patients.

The country is now left with Prof. Ben Ayade’s Cross River State to succumb to COVID-19. With the new cases, the country is gradually, but sadly heading towards the ten thousand mark. As at Wednesday, Nigeria now has 8733 persons have tested positive for COVID-19 with 2501 patients discharged and 254 deaths so far. Announcing the update through its official Twitter handle, the NCDC said that 256 cases were recorded in Lagos State, 23 in Katsina State. 22 in Edo State, 14 in Rivers State, 13 in Kano State, 11 in Adamawa and Akwa Ibom State, seven in Kaduna State and six in Kwara and Nasarawa State among others.
