Nigeria Records 684 New Cases Of COVID-19 As Total Hits 23,298

A total of 684 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) have been recorded in Nigeria. The Nigeria Centre of Disease Control (NCDC), has announced this on Friday June 26, 2020. With the new addition, the total number of the dreaded has reached 23,298.

The NCDC added that of this number of confirmed patients in the country, 8,253 have been discharged while Nigeria has also recorded 554 deaths of people that died as a result of COVID-19 complications.

This latest data, which was updated on the Twitter handle of the NCDC showed that Lagos State, the epicentre of the pandemic in Nigeria, recorded 259 new cases. There is still a question mark on the status of Cross River State as conflicting reports have argued on the discovery of an index case in that state.
