Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Now 6677, But 200 Dead So Far

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday May 20, 2020, as at 11:20p.m. recorded 284 new cases of the novel Coronavirus (COVID19). The new tally came from 12 states as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. This brings the total confirmed cases of people infected by the virus in the country to 6677.

The Centre on its Twitter handle disclosed that the total number of discharged patients has also risen to 1840 but sadly, the death toll has hit the 200 mark. The rising number of positive cases calls for concern given that the virus has since shifted to transmission, which makes contact tracing extremely difficult.

The new cases from the states and the FCT are:

199-Lagos

19-Oyo

8-FCT

8-Borno

7-Plateau

6-Jigawa
