Nigeria’s NCDC Confirms 5621 Positive COVID-19 Cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 176 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID19) in the country. The latest update in the number of cases in Nigeria was as at 11:56p.m. on Saturday May 16, 2020 when the NCDC updated their Twitter handle. This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 5,621. The centre also reported that a total of 1,472 patients have been treated and discharged from the various treatment centres across the nation to reunite with their families.

Ever since President Muhammadu Buhari ordered that the lockdown imposed in the country be eased, the country have been recording daily increase in the number of infected people across the country. The centre also recorded 176 deaths from complications arising from COVID-19. It gave the breakdown of the different states, which accounts for the news cases as follows:
