*Prof. Osinbajo, Nigeria’s Vice President
Following the test result of Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, reports from the State House has it that Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is currently in self-isolation. The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), who carried out Kyari test pronounced him positive with the dreaded Coronavirus (COVIC-19).
The media also gathered that some presidential villa officials, especially those who had contact with the Chief of Staff have also gone on isolation. Information also has it that the vice president, as a precautionary, measure went into self-isolation Monday night immediately he was informed of Kyari’s test result. Osinbajo attended several State House events last week, including the Federal Executive Council Meeting on Wednesday, which was also attended by Kyari and chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari. Although the State House claim that Buhari tested negative, Osinbajo is yet to take the COVID-19 test.
There are however reports that three staff of the presidency may have tested positive. It is expected that the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, will brief the press on the the categories of presidential officials in isolation. Meanwhile, the Presidential Villa, Abuja wore a different look Tuesday. Activities were low key in the Villa while State House staff and presidential aides were in sober mood.
