The spokesperson of pan-Yoruba sociopolitical group, Afenifere, Mr. Yinka Odumakin, has passed on. His death was confirmed by his wife, Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin.
Mrs Odumakin disclosed that he died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH). The late spokesperson of Afenifere has been off the scene for three weeks, as he was said to be receiving treatment for some undisclosed ailments, which was later confirmed to be coronavirus (COVID-19). He was said to have been in isolation centre as a result of complications from the dreaded ailment.
The wife said, “A part of me is gone. A part of me is gone. He fought hard at the intensive care unit. Pray for me to survive this. My love is gone. He was ok before. He was recovering yesterday but he died this morning. I am at the intensive care unit. A part of me is gone,” she cried.
