After a 2-nil trashing by Aston Villa on Saturday, Chelsea have sacked Graham Potter as their head coach. Chelsea have been in a very poor run of form. It was the Englishman’s 11th defeat in 31 games since replacing Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge on September 8.
Potter took over on September 8 on a five-year deal but has left the club just seven months into that contract, after a dismal streak of performance which saw him winning seven of his 22 Premier League games in charge.
“I feel for Graham Potter, but it was inevitable,” summarised Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher. “You don’t change Tuchel for Potter. Ridiculous decision to start with.”
Chelsea had dropped to 11th position on the log following their 2-nill defeat on Saturday. They will face Liverpool on Tuesday in a crucial premier league match for both clubs.
