As far as pre-season can possibly be determined from player reactions, the Arsenal squad are having a riot of a time as they gear up to face Premier League rivals Chelsea in Dublin.
Unai Emery’s side have returned to the UK and put in a training session at their London Colney base on Monday with spirits high and jokes aplenty.
Arsenal new comer Lucas Torreira has also joined up with his new team-mates following a prolonged holiday after the Russian 2019 World Cup, and has been getting accustomed to his new surroundings. The Uruguayan midfielder was thrust straight into the action and was able to showcase his talents to his fellow Gunners.
Arsenal will spend a few days back in London before jetting over to Ireland and taking on Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea in Dublin’s Aviva Stadium. The Blues could use the game as an opportunity to have a closer look at midfielder Aaron Ramsey, whom they are interested in snatching from Arsenal. The Welshman, has entered the final year of his contract at the Emirates. A new deal is not in place at present, resulting in the piqued interest of opposition clubs. Any asking price is poised to be in the region of £30million for Ramsey, who has won 53 international caps for Wales and was part of the squad that reached the semi-finals of Euro 2016.
