Political thugs allegedly from the All Progressive Congress (APC) are currently heavily attacking the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly. The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in a statement on Monday, alleged that the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly premises was attacked by thugs, suspected to be working for the opposition party. The thugs according to the PDP allegedly invaded the complex, chanting the slogan “APC! Change” as they set bonfire and blocked the entrance to the Assembly complex.” Residents of the peaceful city were taken aback as they watched the thugs rampaging all over the place. This is coming just a day after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) lifted the ban on political parties in the country and their political aspirants to flag off campaign preparatory to the much talked about make or mare 2019 elections.
