The head coach of Zambia, Mr. Wedson Nyirenda, said he is not in Nigeria to joke. The man who arrived Nigeria via Ghana, where they camped and prepared for the game against Nigeria on Saturday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria has vowed to inflict pains on Nigerians, by defeating the Super Eagles in Saturday’s 2018 World Cup qualifier. A win for the Super Eagles tomorrow hands Nigeria the ticket to Russia where the mundial would hold.
The Chipolopolo have seven points and are in second place, three points behind Group B leaders, Nigeria who beat them 2 -1 in the first leg in their backyard. However, Nyirenda who has reshaped the team since that painful lose to Nigeria is confident the young Chioplopolo team can surprise Nigeria and go all the way to qualify for the World Cup at the expense of the Super Eagles.
He said, “We are very ready to inflict pains on Nigerians by beating your Super Eagles in Uyo and put ourselves in good position to qualify for the World Cup. If your team could beat us in our home, nothing stops us from doing so to you on Saturday in Uyo. I am not bullish, but confident that my boys will play to form and get the three points at stake. We have a very improved squad different from the team that lost to Nigeria in the first meeting. We are ready to put our youth advantage to use and beat your Eagles.”
