Supporters of Rangers International Football Club of Enugu on Wednesday were disappointed with Rangers Management for an alleged improper arrangement concerning their trip to Asaba, the capital of Delta State to support the club in the Federation Cup Final against Bendel Insurance.
The disappointment and confusion reportedly began when the supporters found out that there were no proper arrangements for their transportation to the match venue at Asaba.
NewsBits learnt that many football lovers got to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium for the take-off to the match venue but were disappointed as only one bus was available. The problem was even made worse when they were informed that only one bus would convey both the fans and the supporters, a development, they said was strange to them. They complained that the bus could not accommodate everyone to the match venue, however.
A source close to the Ministry of Youths and Sports and Rangers International FC noted that a huge amount of money was released for the trip but was not utilised appropriately. This prompted the fans to decide not to take a risk with the rickety bus while demanding better buses and to know more about their welfare during the match.
Reports had it that the supporters club and other fans were still in Enugu as at 10:45 am as they had refused to board the bus.
