New Naira Notes: Heritage Bank Takes Campaign To Customers

Following the announcement by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regarding redesigning the Nigerian current – the Naira, the Management of Heritage Bank has taken the message to its customers. In a communication, which the bank titled ‘New Naira Notes Coming!’ the bank said:

Esteemed Customer,

Following the recent announcement by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regarding the planned redesign and issuance of 200, 500 & 1000 bank notes, please be notified of the following:

  • Effective December 15, 2022; The new denomination of banknotes will be in circulation.
  • The current 200, 500 & 1000 banknotes will remain as legal tender until January 31, 2023.
  • The proposed new and current banknotes will be accepted as legal tender until January 31, 2022, after which the current notes (200, 500 & 1000) cease to be legal tender.
  • Customers are advised to make all their cash deposits in the affected denomination (at no charge), at any of our Experience centres.
