4000 European Jobs For Imo Youths: Uzodimma Becoming Too Ridiculous – Popular Musician, Peter Okoye

By NewsBits

Famous Nigerian musician, Peter Okoye has lashed out at the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma for announcing that he would help 4,000 indigenes of Imo State secure jobs in Europe and Canada by December 2023.

Uzodimma made the announcement during a campaign event ahead of the November 11 governorship election in the Southeastern State of Nigeria. He even went as far as saying that he would pay for their flight ticket once they secure the jobs.

Uzodimma had told the cheering crowd: “I have gone further to negotiate with the European Union government and Canadian government. They are sending us special areas of skill which our youths will also learn and by December this year, 4000 Imo youths will be employed in Europe.

“Once the employment letter drops, the governor will pay for your air ticket.”

Commenting on the development via his Instastories, Peter Okoye described the statement by the governor as ‘’ridiculous.”

He said that “it is a shame for a governor who is supposed” to create an enabling environment and job opportunities for his people to make such promises.
