Abia State Records Five New Cases Of COVID-19 – Governor Ikpeazu

The governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu on earlier today at a press conference disclosed that his state has recorded five new cases of the ravaging Coronavirus (COVID-19). The governor said that three of the patients that tested positive are those who have a travel history having entered the state from Lagos State, which is the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria. The others, he stated do not have any travel history.

Ikpeazu said the patients have been admitted at the stage isolation center, just as the health officials in the state begun contact tracing in line with the directives of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). When lockdown, which was imposed to checkmate the spread of the disease was relaxed, the NCDC had issued a warning that people needed to be cautious because the spread of COVID-19 has shifted to community level.
