Sitting L-R: Mr Kashim Ibrahim, Deputy Director Federal Ministry of Justice; Mr Henry Fomah, Head Legal Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC); Mr Ahmed Lawan Kuru, Managing Director/CEO AMCON; Professor Bolaji Owosanoye SAN, OFR, ICPC Chairman; Mr Ahmad Barau, Deputy Director Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN); Mr Hameed Mustapha, Director Operations Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) and other committee members at the 5th meeting of the Inter-agency Committee on Recovery of AMCON Debts held at the AMCON Head Office in Abuja today.

The Inter-Agency Committee on Recovery of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) Debts, our correspondent gathered held at the Abuja Boardroom of AMCON’s Head Office earlier today. It is the 5th in the series of the high-profile meeting since it was set up by the Presidency.

Although the details of the meeting were not immediately made known, NewsBits gathered that the discussions may not have been unconnected with the ongoing plans by the committee to explore better ways of making sure that recalcitrant debtors of AMCON are compelled to face the music using all available options including instituting criminal proceedings against some of them. As at the time of publishing this report, we made several efforts to reach Mr Jude Chiedozie Nwauzor, a former Assistant Editor with Lagos-based Daily Independent Newspapers, and AMCON’s image maker since 2016 to provide us with the details of the meeting, which was also chaired by Prof. Bolaji Owosanoye SAN, OFR. Mr Nwauzor did not get back to us.
