CHINI Africa Makes Nigeria Proud, Wins Cannes Lions Silver Award

CHINI Africa has emerged silver winner at the recently held 2019 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity’s Andrea Suez Representative of the Year Award in London. The award was given to the Nigerian firm in recognition of CHINI Africa’s innovative ideas to engage the Nigerian market.

The representative of the year award is judged against four main criteria including: Brand Ambassadors, Creative Marketing Activity, Engagement with Young Lions and Business Results. The award is open to Cannes Lions representatives in 92 countries who promote the values of the Festival in their various markets. The 2019 Gold was won by Australia, while the Bronze award went to Ireland.

Speaking on the award, Mr Nnamdi Ndu, the Chief Executive Officer of CHINI Africa, said “Promoting creativity for us is not work as usual. It is our passion to push Nigerian and indeed African creativity to the world stage. A commendation from a no less than Cannes Lions is a sign that we’re on the right path and we are inspired to do even more.”

He also said, “we thank all our partners, the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), Union Bank of Nigeria, Leo Burnett Lagos, City FM and all others who have contributed in various ways to make the 2019 event a success.”

CHINI Africa holds several events, training programmes and forums to inspire, promote and showcase creativity, especially from the African perspective and has become a rallying point for Africa’s creative community and a channel for the rest of the world to learn, experience and connect with the diverse creativity of Africa.
