COVID-19 Cases In Nigeria Now Above 7000 Says The NCDC Reports

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday, said that 339 persons have tested positive for the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) thus pushing the total confirmed cases in the country to exceed 7000. The NCDC confirmed this development on their Twitter handle, which was updated on Thursday May 21, 2020 at 11:48p.m.

With this development, Nigeria now has 7016 COVID-19 cases with 1907 discharged and 211 deaths since the pandemic hit Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation. The 339 new cases were recorded from 17 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

Observance of social distancing is catching up across Nigeria just as more and more people now wear face mask, wash hands regularly with soap and running water, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer and generally maintain hygiene among other protocols as detailed by the NCDC.
