COVID-19 On The Increase As Yobe State Records First Case

Yobe State has recorded a first Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic case, according to latest reports reaching our newsroom. With this development, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said the number of states affected by the virus has risen to 35 including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The NCDC also announced additional 196 new cases in the country, which now brings the total coronavirus infections to 1728 with 307 recoveries and 51 fatalities. The breakdown has it that, “196 new cases of COVID19 reported; 87 – Lagos, 24 – Kano, 18 – Gombe, 17 – Kaduna, 16 – FCT, 10 – Katsina, 8 – Sokoto, 7 – Edo, 6 – Borno, 1 – Yobe, 1 – Ebonyi and 1 – Adamawa. As at 11:55p.m. April 29- 1728 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Nigeria. Discharged – 307. Deaths – 51.” The NCDC reports that only Cross River and Kogi are the only two states remaining to confirm any COVID-19 case in the country.
