COVID-19: United Kingdom Citizen Dies In Lagos

Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi has announced that Nigeria has recorded another death from deadly Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in Lagos State. Lagos State is one of the states under 14 days lockdown as directed by President Muhammadu Buhari as one of the measures to contain the spread of the disease. There is also Ogun State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The deceased according to the commissioners is a 66-year-old citizen of the United Kingdom who travelled from India via Dubai to Lagos on March 17, 2020. Prof. Abayomi disclosed this through his Twitter handle earlier on Wednesday just as he confirmed that cases of coronavirus had increased to 130 in Lagos State.

“Lagos recorded another #COVID-19 related death: a 66-year-old Briton, who travelled from India via Dubai to Lagos on March 17, 2020. As of April 7, 2020, there are 10 new cases of #COVID-19 confirmed. The total of #COVID-19 cases in Lagos rises to 130. Another #COVID-19 patient was discharged after full recovery. This brings the number of discharged patients by Lagos State to 32.”
