Death Of Bamise: BRT No Longer Safe

The death of a 22-year-old lady, Oluwabamise Ayanwole, has sparked social media reactions. Bamise (as she was fondly called while she was alive) was earlier reported missing after she boarded a Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) from Chevron Bus stop heading to Oshodi. Her mother had made a video calling on the Lagos government to save her daughter. Bamise was later found dead on Carter Bridge by Ogogoro community in Lagos Island by the police with her private parts allegedly missing.

Reacting to this development, some Nigerians took to their Twitter handles lamenting about the state of insecurity in the country and they also called on the Lagos State Governor, Mr Sanwo-Olu to bring the killers of the deceased lady to justice.

Meanwhile, the driver of the BRT bus that took the late Oluwabamise Ayanwole on February 26 has been arrested. Police confirmed the arrest of the driver identified as Nice Andrew on Monday afternoon shortly after the death of Bamise was made public. Spokesman, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, who confirmed the arrest, promised to provide further details later.
