Defender, Thomas Meunier May Switch To Arsenal Or Man United

It is not news any more that both Arsenal and Manchester United are struggling with their defence and have set out to patch up the leakages probably in the January transfer window. News reports coming out of France as the different leagues observe the International Break have it the Paris Saint Germain (PSG) defender, Thomas Meunier is considering a January transfer possibilities amid ongoing interest from Arsenal and Manchester United of England.

The movement has a very high possibility because with his contract expiring next summer, the Belgian has been heavily linked with an exit from the Parc Des Princes. Now, with talk gathering pace on a cut-price January departure, the 27-year-old has offered some clarity on the situation. ‘It was an intense period, with a lot of interest and discussion,’ Meunier told RTBF in France this week.

‘I could have left but it was not done because there was nothing that suited the club or myself. Nothing was 100 per cent for it to work. ‘I have always said that I wanted to stay in Paris. I still have one year on my contract and I still hope an extension can be secured.
‘The situation is a little more complicated because I am no longer the preferred choice in my position, but I remain professional.

‘I feel good there and we will see what happens during the season.’ After Dani Alves returned to Brazil this summer, Meunier was widely expected to retake a first team position. The emergence of youngster Thilo Kehrer has however provided stern competition, and left Meunier once again settling for a place on the bench.
