Enugu Assembly Holds 8th Inauguration Tuesday, June 13, Says Clerk

By NewsBits

All is now set for the 8th inauguration of the Enugu State House of Assembly for members-elect scheduled for Tuesday, June 13.

A statement signed by the Clerk of the House/Head of Legislative Service, Dr Emma Udaya, stated that the inauguration would be held in the hallowed chamber of the state assembly complex at Independence Layout, Enugu by 10am.

The Clark stated: “Every member-elect is expected to bring the originals of his/her certificate of return from INEC and Code of Conduct Acknowledgement slip of Assets declaration to the Clerk of the House for sighting and verification.

“All members-elect are advised to be seated on their respective Constituency seats in the hallowed chamber of the House at 9.30am as punctuality is an invaluable decorum of the honourable House!”

NewsBits recalls that the Labour Party (LP) is having 14 members-elect while the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has 10 with ranking lawmakers-elect, arguably a development that gives the PDP members-elect legal backing to produce the Speaker of the House.

The public announcement has ended the rumour that the inauguration of the 8th Assembly would be held in utmost secrecy.
