Members of the Association of Traditional Medicine Practitioners, Enugu State, (ATMPES), have held their 2022 Practitioners’ Day. The Day, which was held in collaboration with the Association of Traditional Bone Healers (ASTRABON) took place at the Prison’s Club, Kingsway Roundabout, Enugu.

NewsBits learnt that all those who matter in traditional medicine practice in Enugu State attended the memorable occasion with the theme: “Effect of Traditional Medicine in Contemporary Time: Cure and Remedy Prevalent in Roots and Herbs.”

The State chairman of the association, Chief Nwaweliteaku Aniamulueze said the Traditional Medicine Practitioners’ Day “is an annual festival we hold every year, and we are happy that our members turned out en masse for the celebration.”

He added that the special day “afforded us the opportunity to interact with one another and to deliberate on how to improve on traditional medicine and how to promote it.”

Aniamulueze, who appraised the theme of this years’ Day, however, disclosed that the theme was apt because much as modern medicine is in vogue, the traditional medicine should not be discarded.

“Before the advent of foreign medicine, our people had been curing sicknesses with roots and herbs and this is what we gathered here to show the world that traditional Medicine is still a portend cure for ailments and diseases,” the ATMPES Chairman said.
