Federal Polytechnic Nekede Honours House Of Reps Member

The Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri, has honoured the member, representing Ahiazu Mbaise/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency in the lower chamber of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emeka Chinedu Martins, with the ‘Social Merit Award’ in recognition of his “contributions to the social advancement of the Nigerian citizens.”

The Dean of Social Studies, Dr. Anayo C. Uhiara, who conferred the award on behalf of the management and staff of the Polytechnic, said: “this Award is in recognition and appreciation of your dedication and committed efforts in ensuring the Social Advancement of the Nigerian Citizens both as an individual and in discharging your official responsibilities as a member representing Ahiazu Mbaise/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency.

“We are well aware of your upwardly mobile and visionary approach to the advancement and spread of the social Advancement in your community and Nigerian society at large.”

A statement issued by the Special Assistant (SA) to the law maker on Media and Publicity, Nnamdi Ukasanya, and made available to NewsBits, indicated that the award was conferred on the lawmaker during the 1st International Conference of the School of General Studies, Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri which was themed: “Rising Cases Of Insecurity: The  African Experience,” held in Owerri on Thursday.

Ukasanya explained that Hon. Emeka Chinedu was represented on the occasion by the Director General of his Political Campaign Organization, Chief Kingsley Njoku, who received the award on behalf of the legislator.

NewsBits recalls that Hon. Emeka Chinedu had previously received an award from the Law Students Association of Nigeria (LSAN), in recognition of his Motion on the floor of the National Assembly, entitled: “Urgent Need To Abolish Acceptance Fee In Nigeria Tertiary institutions.”
