Kaduna 2023: Governor Nasir el-Rufai Picks Senator Uba Sani As Successor

Senator Uba Sani, ‘anointed’ Kaduna State governorship aspirant

Unlike other governors across the country who are still involved in the game of ‘hide-and-seek’ regarding who succeeds them when their tenure expires in 2023, the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has reportedly anointed Senator Uba Sani as the preferred governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 election in the state.

The governor, we learnt made the decision after meeting with some of the aspirants on the platform of the party. He said the decision, we hear has thrown Sani’s camp into a frenzy as the coast is now supposedly clear for him to succeed El-Rufai in 2023. It was also learnt that the governor asked a former Chief of Staff and two-time former Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr Muhammed Sani Abdullahi, popularly known as Dattijo, to pick the form for Kaduna Central Senatorial District.

Kaduna State is currently the epicenter for all sorts of vices such as Boko Haram, kidnappers, banditry, senseless killings, religious crisis, and terrorism just to mention a few. In the recent past, terrorists have attacked the Kaduna International Airport and killed people, attacked the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA), and bombed an Abuja – Kaduna bound train where a number of people were killed, and others kidnapped. The kidnapped victims are still in the custody of the kidnappers at the time of filling this report.

With all these negative indices, anybody succeeding Nasir El-Rufai as governor of Kaduna State come 2023 has his job well-cut out as the person must find the way to end all these negativities in the state, which has isolated Kaduna under the watch of the incumbent governor as one of the states in Nigeria where nobody wants to visit either by road, by air or by train.
