Kaduna Electric Management Increase Workers’ Salary

By Andrew Onyejuruuwa (Kaduna)

As a way to ameliorate the present economic hardship, and cushion the effect of inflation, the new Board of Directors of Kaduna Electric has approved salary increase for staff across board. The news of the upward review of salaries was contained in a statement by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Company, Yusuf Usman Yahaya.

The statement explained that the Board of Directors deemed it appropriate and necessary to review staff salaries in view of the prevailing harsh economic climate in the country and in order to ensure staff are well motivated to continue to work even harder for Kaduna Electric to achieve its goals.

The Managing Director said the increment will come into effect as soon as modalities for implementation have been concluded by the Management. He added that both the Board and Management under his leadership are committed to the welfare of employees and will strive to meet all obligations to staff. He urged staff to reciprocate by doubling their work rate so that Kaduna Electric can meet remittance expectations of the electricity market.

He warned that the company would take stern measures against staff who indulge in vices that impede its progress. He assured that staff who work diligently would be recognized and adequately rewarded.
