Lagos State Governor, Ambode’s Aide, Deji Tinubu Is Dead

Reports reaching us has it that the Special Adviser to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Commerce, Mr. Deji Tinubu, is dead. Before death came calling so suddenly, Tinubu, who formally was Chairman of the Lagos State Sports Commission, until a cabinet reshuffle last month, died during a novelty match in the Epe area of Lagos State.

According to the information, Deji was attending a three-day retreat for members of the State Executive Council, Body of Permanent Secretaries and heads of government agencies and parastatals, holding at the Jubilee Chalet in Epe.

Newsbitsng.com also gathered that Tinubu slumped in the field and was shortly confirmed dead at the General Hospital in the area. According to sources close to the government house, Alausa, the former board member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) was actually certified healthy by health practitioners during the screening carried out before the start of the novelty game aimed at ensuring none of the government officials had such misfortune.

Son of the late Chief Kafaru Tinubu, the deceased is the younger brother of Oando CEO, Wale Tinubu, and nephew of former Governor of Lagos State and stalwart of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
