Popular Nollywood Actor Jimmy Odukoya has been chosen as the senior pastor and chairperson of the board of Fountain of Life Church by unanimous decision from the BoT.
Jimmy Odukoya, the son of Bimbo and Taiwo Odukoya, has succeeded his father as the senior pastor of the Fountain of Life Church.
Jimmy, a popular Nollywood actor, was named the senior pastor on Sunday, during the church service. During the service, a pastor, Rotimi Okpaise, revealed that the late Taiwo Odukoya had shared his succession plan with the board of trustees before he passed away. Okpaise further stated that Jimmy was chosen as the senior pastor and chairperson of the board by unanimous decision from the BoT.
“The board has chosen Saturday, September 30, 2023, as the date of Jimmy’s installation,” he said. On August 7, the church’s founder, Odukoya, passed away in the United States at the age of 67. Less than two years earlier, he had experienced the loss of his wife, Nomthi, a South African, on November 9, 2021, following a two-year battle with cancer.
Odukoya’s union with Nomthi lasted for 11 years and resulted in the birth of two boys. Before his marriage to Nomthi, Odukoya had been married to Bimbo for 21 years, but tragically, Bimbo lost her life in the 2005 Sosoliso plane crash in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.
