Mbah, Enugu State Governor-Elect’s Certificate Fake – Ahmed, DG, NYSC

Brigadier General Yushau Dogara Ahmed, the Director General of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has stated that the body did not issue any certificate to Barr. Peter Mbah, the Enugu State Governor Elect.

Mbah’s NYSC certificate has become subject of controversy amid the legal challenge against his declaration as winner of the state governorship election, with the Labour Party and its candidate, Chijioke Edeoga, contending that the certificate was forged.

Asked about the development during an appearance on Arise TV morning show on Friday, Gen. Yakubu Dogara noted that Mbah approached him over the certificate, but he informed him that it was not issued by the NYSC.

“The Enugu State governor-elect came to me with his NYSC certificate, I asked him to bring, and when I saw it, I told him that this certificate was not issued by us,” Dogara said.

Reacting to the decision of Mbah to approach the court for injunction stopping the NYSC from disclaiming his certificate, Dogara Ahmed said he is not aware of any court case, as he has yet to be served court papers.

“He can decide to go to court, but this is the situation. If you are educated, you should know the right place to obtain your certificate. You don’t obtain a certificate in your room. I’m not aware that he has taken NYSC to court. You cannot sue anyone on the pages of newspapers.”
