NCDC Records 5,162 COVID-19 Cases In Nigeria With 167 Deaths So Far

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the government agency that is leading the war against the deadly Coronavirus (COVID-19), Nigeria on May 14, 2020 recorded 193 new cases of COVID19 infections in the country. The new figure now brings the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 5, 162 cases of COVID-19.

The NCDC, which updated its data at 11:59p.m. on Thursday May 14, 2020 also stated that a total of 1, 180 persons that contracted the disease have been discharged while Nigeria has also recorded 167 deaths since the pandemic started in the country when the Italian index case arrived Lagos State with the virus in February.

The centre gave the breakdown of the new cases from various parts of the country as follows:
