Nigeria Records 3,145 Confirmed COVID-19 Cases With 103 Deaths

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed 195 new cases of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic that is ravaging the entire human race. According to the latest update, the government agency that is leading the fight against the unseen enemy said as at 12:01p.m. Thursday May 7, 2020, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria now stands at 3,145 people.

The centre also stated that an impressive number of 534 individuals have also been treated and discharged to reunite with their families having tested negative twice. On a sad note however, the NCDC reported that Nigeria’s COVID-19 death toll as at Thursday May 7, has also risen to 103. With the ease of lockdown by the federal government in Lagos State, Ogun State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, there are fears from every quarters that Nigeria may witness a spike as most Nigerians appear not to understand how dangerous and devastating the virus is.

A breakdown of the new cases showed that Lagos State still leads with 82 new cases, Kano 30, Zamfara 19, Sokoto18, Borno 10, FCT 9, Oyo 8, Kebbi 5, Gombe 5, Ogun 4, Katsina 3, Kaduna 1 and Adamawa 1.
