Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Enugu State Council has felicitated with the Governor of Enugu state, Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah on his assumption of office as the fifth democratically elected Governor of Enugu State, following his successful inauguration on May 29, alongside his deputy, Ifeanyi Ossai.
A Press release by the state Chairman of the Union, Comrade Sam Udekwe, made available to journalists on Tuesday, also commended the governor “for giving Enugu people a strong hope with the rich content of his inaugural speech filled with potential actuality”.
The press release read in part: “People of Enugu State have great trust and hope in you owing to your unwavering antecedents and work plan to reawaken the state as a leading state in the country.
“Journalists in Enugu are happy that you have set the ball rolling by your appointment of Professor Chidiebere Onyia as Secretary to State Government. We believe that you will fulfill your election campaign promises and accent to the report/plan by the transition Committee which is envisaged to equally tally with your three executive orders which you signed immediately after your swearing in ceremony.
“NUJ Enugu State Council appeals to Your Excellency to carry Journalists along as the fourth Estate of the realm while we assure you of our full support to ensure that activities and initiatives of your administration come to public domain through effective information dissemination.
“We are optimistic that with your proclamation of replicating the wonders of Singapore and Dubai on Enugu soil, you will appoint officers who would help you carry on with the onerous task of making our dear state a better state, attractive for investors, development, and habitation. Congratulations once more”.
