It was a pitiful but heroic end for police hero, Inspr Nege Tavershima of Mopol-3 Enugu. He died gallantly after killing two kidnappers who blocked the Ugwogo/Opi/Nsukka road Sunday evening.
Attached to Government House Enugu, they were reportedly on escort with Government House officials when they ran into kidnappers on Opi Nsukka road. He was able to kill two of the kidnappers and recovered one AK47 riffle from them.
Unfortunately, he died of gunshot wounds sustained during the bloody encounter. His riffle and that of the kidnappers two corpses of kidnappers were recovered Monday morning. Inspr Nege Tavershima hailed from Mbayion in Gboko, Benue State.
