With Super Eagles 4-0 win over Libya in Uyo and South Africa’s 6-0 win over Seychelles in South Africa, it does appear that South Africa who tops Group E and Nigeria will qualify. Nigeria’s Super Eagles was very impressive on Saturday just as South Africa was. Both teams played on their home soils and recorded big wins with Odion Ighalo recording a hat-trick. Nigeria faces the reverse fixture in Tunisia on Tuesday and a win over Libya will be enough to seal their place in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
William Troost Ekong said he is pleased with Super Eagles’ second consecutive clean sheet win in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers following their 4-0 thumping of Libya at the Akwa Ibom international Stadium Uyo on Saturday. With that impressive win, the Super Eagles moved to second spot in Group E with six points behind South Africa who have seven points on the log. But Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr said he was working hard with the team to complete the job they started on Tuesday. He said, “We will approach the game differently and ensure we record another win.”
