Alfred Ruf In India man, Alfred Ruf, 71, has been sentenced to four years in prison after confessing to poisoning his wife’s Coca-Cola cans with drugs, including cocaine and MDMA, as part of a plan to murder her and marry her daughter. Ruf pleaded guilty to aggravated battery posing a risk of death. The case dates back to 2021 when Ruf reportedly spiked his wife Liza Bishop’s drinks with substances on multiple occasions. The National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) has sworn in 1,294 corps members of the 2024 Batch B Stream two set, deployed to Enugu State for the one-year mandatory national service. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has reported a significant rise in Mpox cases, with 48 confirmed infections recorded from 868 suspected cases across 35 local government areas in 19 states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
