The newly elected Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, National leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and officials from the Presidency are among dignitaries expected to attend the burial of the wife of the former President of the Senate, Senator Ken Nnamani, late Mrs. Jane Nnamani.
For now, some prominent Nigerians have been signing the condolence register opened at Nnamani’s country home in Amechi Awkunanaw, Enugu South Local Government Area of Enugu State, and commiserating with the family for the death of Mrs. Nnamani.
However, giving an insight to what the ceremony would look like, first son to the deceased, Mr. Nwabuihe Nnamani, who briefed the press in collaboration with a media consultant, Eseme Eyibo as well as some members of the burial committee, said that Senator Akpabio, some prominent APC members and the Presidency will grace the occasion scheduled for Friday, June 16, 2023.
“Attending the burial ceremony of our dear, late Mrs. Jane Nnamani is going to be one of the very first few assignments Senator Akpabio will be performing as President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” they said. They recalled that Nnamani was the 5th President of the Nigeria Senate, hence many prominent Nigerians would come to pay their condolence.
Nnamani said the media personnel were invited ahead of the burial to inform the world about the burial preparation and arrangement. According to him, the press was quite essential in the burial arrangement and will be carried along to let the world know what will be taking place.
He particularly appealed to the press to highlight the dignitaries that have been signing the condolence register and others that would do so in due course. “The media is important and is good so that the media be carried along to enable the world know what will transpire. The condolence has started with many signing the condolence register already and it will be good that it is captured by the media,” he said.
