Senator Ita Enang, the presidential aide to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly matters has said that the President has finally signed the June 12 bill into law.
Senator Enang, told state house correspondents that with the assent to the amendment, May 29 every year has ceased to a public holiday. He said President Buhari assented to the Public Holiday Amendment Act, declaring June 12 of every year a public holiday and Democracy Day. The issue up till now has been hazy as Nigerians were a bit confused when earlier on May 29, the federal government had declared public holiday.
