Ebonyi Pipe Production Industry To Get A Facelift – Governor Nwifuru

Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has promised to revamp the State-owned pipe production industry at Ezzangbo in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state to serve the purpose for which it was established.

Nwifuru disclosed this in Abakaliki at a media chat to mark the 63rd independence celebration of Nigeria and the 27th anniversary of the creation of Ebonyi. The event provided a platform for the governor to present a scorecard of achievements of the 152-day-old administration to the people of Ebonyi.

He noted that the government was poised to enhance the rapid industrialisation of the state to lift its citizens from economic poverty. He said that the administration had earmarked funds for the rehabilitation, resuscitation, and revamping of the pipe production industry to enable it to operate at optimum capacity.

The governor also added that the ailing state’s building materials manufacturing industry would equally be given a financial boost to enable it to come on stream.

He regretted that the industry despite the huge amount invested in establishing it was yet to commence operation many years after it was established and vowed to ensure that the industry commenced production.

Meanwhile, the governor noted that 100 per cent turnaround maintenance has been carried out in the pipe production industry while payment for the procurement of new machines and other production equipment for the industry has been 100 per cent completed.

He said: “What we are waiting for now is for the arrival of the new machines we have procured; we have paid for it 100 per cent and we have energised the industry 100 per cent and the industry is working.
