The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Governorship Screening Committee, has cleared leading governorship contenders, including the incumbent deputy governor of the state Comrade Philip Shaibu, Hon Osaro Onaiwu and other aspirants to vie for the governorship ticket of the party.
The clearance came on Monday, Committee screened the ten aspirants after they appeared before it. On Monday, eight of the aspirants were on hand to receive their clearance certificates from the PDP National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday.
Bature confirmed that “all ten, aspirants were cleared”. However, one aspirant, Balogun Sunday, who paid N5 million and obtained the expression of interest form, did not show up for screening because he did not buy the nomination forms.
The ten aspirants cleared include: Hon. Osaro Onaiwu, Hon. Omosede Igbinedion, Anslem U. Ojezua Esq., Hon Felix E. Akhabue, Mr. Asuerinme Ighodalo, Comrade Philip Shaibu, Arthur Esene, Omoregie Ogbeide Ihama, Prof. Martin Uhomoibh, and Umoru Adizetu Hadizat
