Enugu 2023: ‘Bulldozers Clash’, As APGA, PDP Struggle To Grade Rural Road

By NewsBits

The massive and aggressive road rehabilitation in rural communities of Udi/Ezeagu Federal Constituency by APGA House of Reps candidate, Chief Wilfred Okeke might be causing the other parties restlessness.

NewsBits learnt that Chief Okeke is said to be touching the lives of Udi/Ezeagu people through rural road rehabilitation. Fondly called Wilangy by his admirers, the civil Engineer-turned politician, had reportedly rolled out bulldozers and graders to make rural roads in his Constituency more accessible, especially this Christmas season.

It was learnt that this current exercise is like a prelude to what he intends to do if he is elected as a member of the House of Representatives. But it was said that a mild drama played out at Ngwo-uno weekend when the APGA candidate’s graders arrived the community.

Report said that on sighting the heavy machines, the Councillor in the area quickly mobilized another grader to work on the same road. However, it was learnt that the action of the councillor did not deter Chief Okeke’s men, as they continued their work from one end while the Councillor commenced his own from the other end.

Reacting to the development, Chief Okeke expressed delight that people are emulating him, stressing that it gives room for healthy competition which can only benefit the masses. “We are happy it’s going this way. If every other party and candidates can roll out machines, our roads would be in better condition, that’s what Enugu needs. Forward ever, our road rehabilitation continues across the Constituency,” Okeke said.
